Kayloni on the 23rd

I called the doc yesterday and we are all scheduled to be induced on Nov. 23rd, wow that is less than two months away. It's very exciting, I can't wait to see what our little girl will look like, Kai thinks she will look like him with green eyes and blonde hair, he is funny. Mike wants her to have curly hair, I'm not so sure that will happen unless she has a different mom :)

Flu Shots

Mike took the boys for their flu shots today, it's the first time I have missed any kind of doctor's appointments or shots (I had to work), and when I talked to Mike he said that Kai didn't even cry at all, I am so proud of him, he's getting so big.

2 boys

Well we put Dre in Kai's room last week to make room for Kayloni and to get her bedroom all set up. I thought it wasn't going to go so well, Kai sleeps with a TV and a bright lamp on and Dre doesn't. I also thought Kai's movement in bed would keep Dre awake. The first night was a little rough, Dre crawled out twice then Kai got sick during the night and that woke him up again, the next night was better, Dre only woke up once and went back to sleep pretty easy (turns out he likes the TV and bright lamp on also). But since that second night he has been going to sleep beautifully and sleeps clear through the night, 12-13 hours. I am starting to think he is going to be my teenager that we are trying to drag out of bed at noon. We'll cross that bridge when we get there, because I have to say I am enjoying sleeping until 9, especially since in 2 months I won't be sleeping much at all :(

So much has been going on in the last few weeks, I have been super bad at updating my blog, but I took some cute pics of the boys, so here they are.

He's home

Bryan got to go home today. They really thought he would be in the hospital for at least two weeks, but he recovered so fast, they sent him home. He will have to do some cardio therapy and watch what he eats, but all in all, he is back to his good old laughing self. Thanks again for all the prayers.

Moving along nicely

Bryan is out of the ICU and in recovery, we are hoping he will be able to go home by the end of the week. We went to see him on Saturday night and he had to wear a respiratory mask that covered his whole face. He couldn't stand it, so the nurse told him he could take it off and get a drink and take a little break. So she took it off and Airiel asked if he needed anything and he said 'Dr. Pepper', so we knew he was coming along just fine.

Up and at 'em

This morning they took the breathing tube out of Bryan, because he was indicated that he very much wanted it out. He gave Airiel a kiss and ate lunch by himself and is now trying his darndest to walk all over the place. He clearly wants to get out of there. He is progressing so much faster than they anticipated, so hopefully they will be able to get him home sooner than planned.

Big Smiles

Yesterday at about 2:30 they took Bryan of the cooling machine, doing this meant that they could unparalyze him. So last night, he was really moving his arms and head and when Airiel got there at 7:00, he opened his eyes and smiled at her. It completely made her day. He is very responsive and alrert, more so than they thought he would be this quickly. He is progressing very rapidly and hope to be able to take the breathing tube out today or tomorrow. If they can do that then they will be able to take the off the sedation drug and then he can really start waking up. He will probably stay in the ICU until the middle of next week and then he will be in recovery for a few days depending on how his progression is coming along. His youth and good heath are big factors in him doing so well so quickly. All of your prayers have certainly been a great benefit also and the family is amazed at all the generosity that has been given. Thanks again.

What....

Yesterday was a little bit of a crazy day for our family. My sister's husband, Bryan, had a heart attach and is in the hospital. He has been having some chest pains the last couple of days, so he scheduled an appointment with the doctor, but didn't quite make it. However, everything that could go right, did. He was sitting on the couch with Airiel, when he stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating. They currently live with his parents, so Airiel yelled for them and they were able to start CPR and call 911 immediately. The ambulance were there within minutes, after lots of medication and 3 shocks, his heart started beating and he started breathing on his own. They took him to the hospital where they found a blockage in his artery, that they were able to repair. They have to keep his core temperature down for at least 24 hours to avoid any brain damage, so he is sedated and paralyzed probably until about Saturday. They are very confident that we will come out of this just fine, but please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
